Celebration of Praise
The evening started with great inspiration and went well. Dottie Peoples and Bishop Paul S Martin truly embraced the spirit of praise and worship. Various acts before Dottie Peoples' performance were uplifting. However, Yolanda Jodeci's performance was disappointing. She went overboard with preaching instead of singing, much to the disappointment of her fans. This may have led to her exceeding the allotted time for the concert. The abrupt turning on of lights caught her off guard, as well as myself. I am a fan of the Yolanda Adams and family morning show, but this event was meant for singing. I may consider attending next year's event but would be cautious if she is on the program again, to ensure the focus is on her singing performance. Perhaps she should have performed the entire concert to balance her "wisdom speaks" segment with her singing.
